A heavy foot works better. Anticipation is required. This is a different form of driving (right foot), and that drive by wire feeling. These systems do seem dogy tho. As for how bad this AFM (cylinder deactivation) is, IMO, is Luddite talk.
WebMar 1, 2024 · The disabling devices don’t solve oil consumption issues, they can actually make them worse by the high pressure oil pump bypassing the lifters and squirting the lower cylinder walls. If it’s a post 12′ vehicle, I would leave it. The lifters aren’t known to cause much of an issue.
