Now when I test for alkalinity (using brand-new test solutions), the water in the tube turns light blue rather than green when I add the second solution. When I add the third solution drop by drop, eventually the water turns yellow rather than red. WebJun 11, 2024 · #1 I put a new scumbug in recently after a partial water swap and filter change, and it turned yellow. The only chemicals I've put in since the water swap (about 100 gallons on a 400ish gallon hot tub) have been dichlor and muriatic acid. Anybody ever hear of something like this? I only swapped out some water to bring the temp down some.
