WebRobert Land Academy is Canada’s only military-inspired private school. Located in the Niagara Region, Ontario, the Academy began to accept students in 1978. The Academy is named after Robert Land (1736-1818), he saw action in the Battle of Louisbourg (1758) and fought with General Wolfe at the Battle of Plains of Abranham (1759). WebThe school was dedicated on March 19, 1889, and opened on March 22, 1889, as an academy for girls and a parochial school for local families. St. Catherine’s also spent time as an orphanage and a school for boys before becoming a military school in the 1920s.
